After the cruise, Jenny flew home to Australia and I flew to Brussels to visit briefly with our daughter, son-in-law and grandson before flying to Prague for a patchwork and doll exhibition.
The weather was absolutely beautiful. We were able to sit outside for lunch the day I arrived in Brussels. Theo was enjoying the sun and catching up with Grandma. We hadn't seen each other since Christmas!
I arrived on Friday, Saturday we were at the International Fair at Heidi's school. Sunday was another fabulous day and we attended a gathering and farewell party for one of Heidi and Raphael's colleagues who is moving to China. The small photo is of our daughter, Heidi, and Theo.
Monday afternoon I flew to Prague where I first taught a two-day doll making class then went to the Hotel Step where the patchwork (quilting) and doll exhibition were to be held. I was completely blown away by the larger than life display of my dolls that Bohdana and her team created. Never in my life have I had my work promoted like this.
To the right is Viola from Slovakia(on the left) and two of the doll club members who were responsible for the set-up and display of the dolls. It was a fabulous exhibition, but one is coming up in December that will be even more spectacular, but more on that later.
As I mentioned earlier, I taught a two-day class. Bohdana, and the doll group, had chosen my Helen, the cover doll on my book Creative Cloth Doll Couture. In two days we got a lot accomplished. These were all suppose to be beginning doll makers, but as you can see, they all did outstanding jobs making Helen.
We didn't get her skirt done, but we got her camiknickers, blouse, shoes and jacket finished. Plus, her face finished and hair at least pinned on. I explained how I add the hair last due to it getting in the way. Also, you may change your mind on the color of hair once she's dressed.
One of the joys of going to Prague was Heidi, Raphael and Theo came for the weekend I was there.
We think Theo is going to be an IT guy like his Daddy. Here he's inspecting the WiFi unit in the apartment they stayed at in Prague.
It was a wonderful time. One I will cherish for the rest of my life.
Prague is a beautiful city, and even more so when you can share it with family and friends.
